Arken
Ishøj, Denmark
2013 — 2014

The idea is to create a museum garden that has high artistic and intriguing effect, leading people outside as well as inside to experience art. The garden separates itself from the surrounding
landscape by maintaining a strict and artificial design language which emphasises the connection to Arken. Simultaneously, the themes chosen in the Garden of Art relates to the
surrounding landscape because of the new interpreted version of both traditional dunes and beach vegetation, which is used in the design.

The project maintains the idea of Arken being a ship that has run aground and that nature has subsequently evolved around it.

The tight form is emphasised through the design of the pathways and the retaining walls made of in situ concrete. The retaining walls creates and supports the artificial expression of the dunes.

The project includes a full tender package of the design.
