Memory Landscapes

2017 — 2018

Memories from traumatic experiences are often incoherent and muddled. Like a ball of string they can be untangled with time. But untangling a traumatic mind reveals dark and gruesome realities. Though, most horrific experiences need confrontation to be unriddled, some memories are too grim and must be hidden away for all eternity.

The drawings are developed from the memories of Zahra Alizadeh, whose only refuge, place of peace and safety was under the Earth.
